random thoughts

“We are breathing the breath that you gave us to breathe… to worship You. We are singing these songs with the very same breath… to worship You.” - Matt Redman….

I’m blogging on a PC today so I actually have some font and color choices. How exciting! These words just struck me as Brian was playing them on the piano.

This weekend has been pretty hectic but good… I’m at church now getting ready to finish up the PowerPoints for the Sunday services, and the band is getting ready to practice for Saturday night. I don’t usually get to come on Saturday nights… so this is a nice change. I’ll be there tomorrow too!! lol… it’s an “all three” week.

Work has been basically SLAMMED this week - but I love it. Except I didn’t love it when I was trying to get out of work early on Friday… hee hee. The ads have just been coming in like hotcakes. But I don’t know if hotcakes are really THAT prominent anymore. I’ve never really understood that slogan.

Oh well - it’s back to work with me… have great weekends everyone!!

Changing Seasons….

Well, autumn is here in full fource. (I didn’t take this picture by the way… I found it on a website by this photographer) I have to say, the cool temperatures are a relief in a lot of ways. But as in Erie, it’s never that perfect temperature of high 60s early 70s for very long… where you don’t need a coat but you aren’t hot and sweltering either. Those “perfect” temperatures are few and far between. We’ve already taken to bringing out all the throws and blankets and cuddling while watching tv at night. It is sort of nice though… relaxing and cuddly. And I had apple cider last night. So, for me, fall has officially begun. Autumn is my favorite time for photography. The colors are just incredible… so I hope to be able to get out and do a shoot soon.

Our 40 days small group went awesome. If you guys aren’t plugged in yet… DO IT! It is really bringing to light a lot of the changes I have to make in my life to be truly loving others around me. Without love, it means nothing. None of it. We trick ourselves into thinking that isn’t true… but it definitely is. We are surrounded by people who probably know nothing about the love of God at our home, which is located on the corner of a street, where a lot of Central kids and other folks wait for the bus… and there are so many opportunities for us to reach out. But is so scary. Why is it so scary? I still have not been able to figure out why it scares me so much. I have to focus on praying for the strength to be a minister to these people.

Also for the person who asked about the Chronicles of Narnia soundtrack, you can find out everyone who’s on it by going
HERE. Some examples are Nichole Nordeman, Bethany Dillon (two of my favorites), Jars of Clay, David Crowder Band, Delirious?, Jeremy Camp, Steven Curtis Chapman, etc. Check it out if you feel so inclined!

Alright, everyone have a great day!

Contemplations and Events

I just recently went onto itunes and downloaded the new “Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia” Sountrack… it’s pretty incredible. I recommend everyone go pick it up in anticipation of the movie. I would also recommend everyone pick up a copy of the book - because it is SO incredible and also a very easy read, and it has the most incredible allegory and themes… I am so psyched for this movie… and for what it is going to mean for the world to see this story presented on the big-screen.

Tomorrow night starts the 40 days of community small group meetings! I am SO excited about it. Our group is getting some new members, and that makes me overjoyed. I pray that we all gel together and we just grow in amazing ways… if you guys don’t have a small group, you can sign up for one on the website by clicking on this link or you can call the church office and talk to Miriam. I encourage you all to get involved and plug into this. I admit, there are times that I have been less than enthused about the 40 days theme… because it seems cliche to me at times and like a trend… but the pastor’s at the church have felt this is a worthwhile and very essential part of our growth as a church, and the prospect of growing more and just connecting with each other is so exciting to me…

Back to work for me… I’m supposed to be getting a new monitor at my office today, flat screen… so I’m excited becuase… well, the one I use now is about the size of a file cabinet. :-)

Have good days everyone!

Today was a really good day. It was really weird at work . . . someone egged a door on our building, so it stunk… they moved out the receptionists desk in the hallway because we are getting the “carpet stretched”… I don’t even understand what that MEANS… i had a great talk with someone too….

anyway… i’m outta here. have good days everyone!!!
