here is my 2005 is almost over post… I guess it was an incredible year, looking back on it. we were blessed in so many ways, and yet God has taught us incredible things as well and is already beginning to bring trials into our lives, thought not life-threatening, to test our faith.
Last week, Brian was in a pretty bad car accident that wasn’t his fault, but he walked out totally unharmed. we are so blessed by that. he was hit by a cabbie going the wrong way up a one-way street on 8th and Walnut by Pie-In-The-Sky restaurant. It was very scary, and Brian’s car is crushed in the front, and wouldn’t move out of the street so we are still waiting to get the other driver’s insurance sorted out and get it paid for, analyzed, and moved. at this point we aren’t sure if it is “totalled” or not.
we still have one other car though, my little crappy 93 civic that has served me well for 12 years…. (it was my mom’s car before that). and it is hanging on. although i think my muffler needs help.
well anyway. that’s all for today. the christmas services at Grace were great this year, and I hope you were able to join and celebrate with us on that day. Live the rest of the year to the fullest, serving God in all you do, and make today - not necessarily New Years day, a day to start moving on some of those resolutions and goals you’ve been procrastinating on this year.

I have to say… I’m already missing autumn leaves. Although the snow has been really pretty, it’s starting to get a bit treacherous. I really need to get my tires changed. I’m sliding around a bit.
There’ve been a lot of web updates to the grace site recently. We’ve been able to finally get a simple solution to listening to the audio of the sermons. If you look on the sermons page, next to each transcript listing will be a button that says “audio”… if it is underlined, there is alink there. IF you click on it, it should open with your default mp3 player. I will try to get these up as soon as I can after the sermon week but it may take a few days.
Also the kids musical is coming up this Sunday - make sure you don’t miss it!!
Christmas is rapidly approaching. who’s done with their shopping? NOT ME. I think Brian and I are going to do a major shopping spree this weekend and try to tackle it all. It will be nice to get it out of the way.
Hope everyone is well!!

ah, the joys of owning a home. and even moreso, the joys of owning a home on the corner of a busy interesection:
this morning …. a car hit our corner fence after being hit by another car after running a red light. it narrowly missed our house. i thought i heard a noise and felt a small impact around 6:40 am…..(brian heard nothing) but i didn’t actually believe it…. sometimes if a really big semi goes by… the same effect happens. the noise really doesn’t bother us. finally i was trying to get myself out of bed… and then…. i saw lots of lights and heard voices. (brian saw/heard nothing) and i went downstairs…sure enough, there was a truck lodged on the flower bed… which had knocked down our cursed fence. i had to go wake up brian because, as previously mentioned, he heard and saw nothing. and was still sleeping. all the people in the accident were ok and there was only minimal damage to our property including the fence and the gutter.
good things:
1) insurance should deal with this
2) we will get a new fence..we may go wrought iron this time.
3) it got brian out of bed early
4) i got to go to work late
bad things:
1) feeling of unsafeness
2) the one cops comment “aah…this house has been hit like 3 times.”
3) the damage that has to be dealt with and the hassel
4) um. a car hit our house.
talk about a rude awakening, eh?
