i would LOVE to win a pink dyson

Win a Dyson “Pink” Vaccuum in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For as long as I have been domestic, I have wanted a Dyson. Not only because our house is 90% carpet and we have a beautiful kitty cat, but because I believe with all my heart in the advertisements saying it is THE BEST vacuum in existence. I’ve never been able to afford one though. I actually asked for one for Christmas this year, from my whole family. Yes, I like vaccuuming that much. I think it would be a worthy investment…

Anyway, this is awesome… and in PINK??? Seriously? Perfect.

So, that being said…..

perkins for breakfast

On Saturday I joyfully got to meet Michelle for breakfast at Perkins (a very “erie” spot… do you girls have Perkins?) It was good, as always, to catch up. Here’s some fun snapshots.

pumpkin muffin

Check out that Pumpkin Muffin! I ate some of it… it was amazing. But witness, this is Michelle eating. She got about 1/2 of it down :)

It’s been a long time since Michelle & I got a photo together. I think they turned out so cute.

Michelle, you are beautiful!

Um, ok so this is not a good shot. Sorry for cutting off your head, Michelle…

who is grace?

Grace church 10-20-07

You may notice a new button/widget in my left hand bar….

Grace is where I have spent, what I could safely estimate, about half of my life thus far. Some are not branched so closely with their famly and friends, but for me I’ve been growing up there since I was a child. The youth group and relationships, struggles, trials I had while experience true Grace have shaped me into who I am today…. I remember feeling the Lord move through me during worship, then struggling with who I was as a teenager in my public high school… being cool or being a Christian. Or wait… could you be both? I was married through Grace on one of the most beautiful days of my life thus far… and now my husband is part of the Grace team.

Now, through times of doubt and struggle, I am sure of my path and my place in God. Grace is this community of believers that help you grow, move, change and adapt. Grace is what God gave my family 30-some years ago when he saved them all. And now that family is joining together to deal with tough times, struggles, sins and cancer. Grace is what God extended when a friend had a miscarriage, when friends thought they would have to drop everything and move away, when new people who are just right come into the mix, or when lives change and pillars of the church suddenly pass away.

I hope this makes sense to everyone… I am just trying to bring together all of the things that I know of Grace… not only the church, but the act of God’s saving mercy on our lives, and how the grace flows down like a river every day. As we move to this new place, I love that when I look at this building and walk into the new space, it feels like home. I am so excited for this change as we grow as a church together, and hopefully meet new and incredible people who, like me, need Grace.

motif

On Faveup.com, I saw a new design/firm that has a name similar to mine, and it freaked me out. I’ve never seen anyone else use “motif” in their business name, and especially with a “p” start… like puremotif. Most of the time when I tell people my business name, they are like… what? huh? pier motif? what did you say? Then I explain and they say… aaah… that is really nice, i like it.

So, behold, Primo Motif.

I don’t know why but it made me cringe a bit. Seeing something so close. It could be worse, though, right?

Also, I am looking to buy either these, or something similar. I need to take some close up photography of jewelery… and I need some help. Does anyone have experience with Diopters out there? I have a Nikon D70.

The news on my grandma comes tomorrow at 10am. I’m scared.

fall times

Sunday was a very rare day. There are friends of mine who all went out and got spectacular photos that day. It’s now much more like traditional Erie fall. Cold, dark, wet, windy. The leaves are piling up. I do love fall (as everyone seems to) however… it’s getting closer and closer to the hours of raking leaves that Brian and I will be tackling. Oddly enough, we only have one tree that is on our property (and it’s only 1/2way) But we end up with about 10-20 bags of leaves every year. And they are all from the neighbors. They somehow end up in our driveway and blowing up to the corner!

Ok, enough whining about it….

Update on my grandma…. it’s not good right now. I mean, it is a waiting game. She had a biopsy on a growth… and she has fluid in her stomach… and a partial obstruction in her colon. She is extremely weak and tired and hasn’t een able to eat for 2 days. She’s in pain and so nauseous she can barely drink. She is hooked up to IVs. She is totally lucid and conversational and was happy to see us. She’s just in a really bad place right now. It’s amazing how life sort of goes on hold now… waiting for the biopsy results.

They are trying to rule out cancer.

Cancer.

That word…. I hate it.

make your own handwriting into a font

My friend found this and I am just so excited to do it. At this site, you can pay $9 and make your own handwriting into it’s own font! She did it and sent me hers. It would be so cute if we all could do it and then have each others handwriting in fonts! I especially think Danielle should do this, because she has such awesome handwriting.

Check it out here…. FONTIFIER

Here are my screenshots into the whole process :)

Well here it is…The overall result is ok, cute… I do really like the ampersand and the capital letters. But I think this could be better. Maybe because I didn’t use a felt tip pen and I probably wasn’t as regimented with staying in line with the x-heights. Also, my handwriting is a combo of cursive and printing, with a slant… so it took some pretty strong kerning, letter spacing and baseline shifting to get things to fit together…. I wish I could edit it now that I have the .ttf. It does look a lot like my handwriting though!

Download puremotif.ttf here!

Also, I just found out my grandma went to the hospital. I think she is ok, but she’s struggling with the condition she’s due to have surgery for in November. Any prayers are appreciated.
