about
Living in Erie, PA sounds boring and uninteresting. It’s all I need though, and I’ve made a life that is worth living. With purity, beauty, and the simple-ist of things as my inspiration, I design, garden, photograph, and live it to the best of my ability.
I’ve lived here since I was three years old, and am now a part-time art director/designer at a local advertising agency, as well as owning my own small design business where I create pretty much anything you can imagine!
so, what is puremotif?
pure: clear, free from blemishes, without any discordant quality, clear and true. untainted with evil; innocent. independent of sense or experience.
motif: a recurring subject, theme or idea in a literary or artistic or musical work. a dominant and unifying theme or central idea.
It’s my theme and mantra… I came up with the name in college and it has stuck with me. At first people don’t quite get it, but if you know me, it fits.

Beautiful Hollyhock!
Thanks for checking out my blog—I can’t wait for your advice when I get into some gardening posts; this year is my first in a new yard and it’s been fun trying to figure out what plants will live well there.

Thanks for commenting! Of course, with curiousity, I clicked on your link & visited your site. I LOVE your logos! I can do the photography, but NOT the design stuff.
The Moonlight & Lake Erie ones were some of my favorites. I’ll be back checking out the rest later, but just wanted to say “thanks!”

after checking out your photos on flickr (which are fantastic), i got to wondering if this is the same rachel that i used to ride the bus to harborcreek with. we sat in the back with amy s., lexi, and another girl that lived across the street.
