snow snow snow

I’m sitting in my office at work and I can literally see the snow falling in my computers reflection. As treacherous as it is, I have to admit it is beautiful. I tried to take a picture with the iMac but it was blowing out he background, so I used the little crappy Kodak that our office has to give you a taste.

oh, and that’s me. :-)

let it snow!! just keep me cozy inside!!

gift wrapping & decor

Hello everyone! I’m really sorry about my lack of posting… things are very busy right now. I’ve had a friend who’s grandfather died, back-to-back meetings, helping with displays and other projects for the new church, and christmas decorating up the wazoo!

For some reason… I’ve already done a ton of wrapping. The thing is, all the packages are empty! I did about five or six rather large empty boxes that will be used as a prop for our sermon series about “presents/gifts” … of course it will be tied back to God. We’re not that materialistic! And the others I was inspired by Danielle to just wrap a few cute sized boxes under the tree so it doesn’t look so bare.

I have some awesome paper that I got from Ikea last weekend… it is so adorable. They have an incredible line… pretty much every color you can imagine. I’m also not afraid to shop at Big Lots to get affordable ribbon and other papers! Here’s what I’m using this season:

Now if money was no object, I pine after these beauties from TheContainerStore.

and so many more!

My problem with posting is for some reason it takes me so long to decide on which photos to post, and what you guys even care to see…. so as I was taking the wrapping paper, I also did some Christmas decor. I Hope you enjoy….

zelda says hello.

happy thanksgizing everyone!

(to fully understand that title and have a heartwarming laugh, click here) We are safe in Maryland after our road trip (everything happened except the fight and the road-game playing, which was awesome). I am now in the dark comfy basement while my in-laws are preparing the Thanksgiving meal. I had to come down here because Brian was snoring so bad last night! Is it ok to post this on a public blog? Hey, lots of people do it. Anyway…. I am so thankful this Thanksgiving.

  • My relationship with Christ. He sticks by me despite my doubts and struggles. He died for me so I could share eternal life. He gave me all that is listed below.
  • For my family. Everything about them is awesome and I love that we are so close that we are sharing information and all aware of what is going on so we can pray for each other and support each other
  • My incredible friends. Some of them have been working so hard lately and yet remaining positive and awesome. A few are going through their own difficult times right now, yet are still there for me with my own problems and issues.
  • My grandmother. We found out that they are leaning towards Ovarian cancer, but we still aren’t positive. She will begin treatment, but she says the peace of the Lord is with her. She is an inspiration and I love her.
  • My husband and my Zelda. I can’t say how much these things mean in my life. All bring me so much joy.
  • My home. Although it comes with its trials for sure (loitering, cars hitting it, expenses)… I am still thankful to have a comfy and cozy roof over my head and that we can afford a place to live.
  • My Maryland family. It’s so awesome to have another place to come to and be with and share time with on the holidays. And an excuse to come to beautiful Maryland
  • Our new church and the staff and people who have made it happen. It is still an adjustment for sure, but it is amazing and such a cool time for us all. I still can’t believe we’re there.

Have an amazing day everyone and DO overeat turkey. :-)

time change

Did anyone else forget about the time change this morning? Brian and I were so tired last night, we talked in bed after kind of a rough, stressful day, and then we were falling asleep by 11:00…. this morning we got up, forgot to change our clocks and went about our business. He left for church, then about 15 minutes later, came back and looked at me… sort of smiling, and was like…. Is this the weekend we were supposed to set the clocks back?  YES!!! The transition Now I am heading into the agency to fight with the new iMac some more. It’s rough! Transferring data is so long/time consuming/and erroring!

some photos for your viewing pleasure

Hey all! Well one of the new 24″ iMacs came in at work today. I tried so hard to get tons of work done so that I could be really responsible and set the new machine up only in the last hour. Well, a bunch of hiccups happened. It didn’t go so hot. I eventually did get it up and running, but no files transferred. I wasted about 45 minutes looking for a firewire cable as well, and then in the middle of installing the Leopard upgrade, I accidentally unplugged the iMac. I almost cried, I was so scared I ruined it. It just restarted though… so I lost some time but it seems to be ok… then, right after it finished, we had power surges in the area, and the power shut off and hard restarted the iMac which was also not good. So all in all, my iMac had a very rough start, and I’m pretty nervous about it.

The other day, I had to take some photos for the new church building… Danielle & I are working on some photography to put up as artwork! She is getting some today, I’m sure they turned out awesome. Anyway, a few were ok… and of course there were some beautiful fall colors. Here are a few for ya:

Goodnight everyone….

fall times

Sunday was a very rare day. There are friends of mine who all went out and got spectacular photos that day. It’s now much more like traditional Erie fall. Cold, dark, wet, windy. The leaves are piling up. I do love fall (as everyone seems to) however… it’s getting closer and closer to the hours of raking leaves that Brian and I will be tackling. Oddly enough, we only have one tree that is on our property (and it’s only 1/2way) But we end up with about 10-20 bags of leaves every year. And they are all from the neighbors. They somehow end up in our driveway and blowing up to the corner!

Ok, enough whining about it….

Update on my grandma…. it’s not good right now. I mean, it is a waiting game. She had a biopsy on a growth… and she has fluid in her stomach… and a partial obstruction in her colon. She is extremely weak and tired and hasn’t een able to eat for 2 days. She’s in pain and so nauseous she can barely drink. She is hooked up to IVs. She is totally lucid and conversational and was happy to see us. She’s just in a really bad place right now. It’s amazing how life sort of goes on hold now… waiting for the biopsy results.

They are trying to rule out cancer.

Cancer.

That word…. I hate it.
